Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives has issued a statement regarding an incident involving an errant officer that occurred on April 5th, 2024. The incident arose from the reorganization of office space to accommodate the incoming Honorable Minister of State for Trade and his staff.
In total, six offices were identified for reorganization, involving tasks such as painting, relocation of records, and staff reassignments. While most staff complied without issue, Senior Legal Officer Ms. Sandra Karyn Aneno reacted aggressively, using abusive language towards management, necessitating intervention from security personnel.
Following this behavior, Ms. Aneno was interdicted, and management initiated a comprehensive investigation. However, Ms. Aneno has resorted to using the media to deflect from the incident and has been attempting to blackmail management. Management emphasizes that criminal aspects of the matter have been reported to the police for handling.
Management refutes claims of physical altercation or slapping, asserting that such allegations are unfounded. Media reports, including those from New Vision, have been criticized for sensationalism and inaccuracies. Management urges readers to treat these reports with skepticism and assures the public that the matter is being handled transparently and according to due process.
