In a noteworthy achievement, Wendy Angudeyo has been reelected for a second term as Lady Captain of the Uganda Golf Club (UGC), marking the beginning of an exciting chapter for the club. The highly anticipated Lady Captain’s Prize event is set to take place this Saturday, attracting over 200 golfers eager to compete on the UGC grounds.
Traditionally, the Lady Captain’s Prize event serves as a symbolic transition from the old executive to the new, and this year is no exception. The UGC Ladies Section recently conducted its Annual General Meeting on Thursday, March 7th, officially concluding the term of the Lady Captain and her team.
Expressing her gratitude, Wendy Angudeyo stated, “I have served as UGC Lady Captain for one year, and I am thrilled to continue for a second term. My inaugural year was fulfilling, and I’ve grown into the role. I appreciate the outgoing team for their efforts in making my tenure a success. I look forward to continuing the momentum with the new team and invite all golfers to join us in this exciting tournament.”
The newly elected executive team includes Wendy Angudeyo (Lady Captain), Sarah Nduhukire (Vice Lady Captain), Hon. Patience Nkunda (Secretary), Berna Musanabera (Treasurer), and Flavia Namakula (Competitions Secretary).
Highlighting the significance of Wendy’s reelection, Simon Lapyem, UBL Innovations Projects Manager, conveyed congratulations and shared, “WhiteCap Crisp applauds Wendy and her team on her second term as Lady Captain. As we celebrate women in March, we continue to champion inclusion by supporting women breaking barriers in various sectors, including male-dominated spaces like sports.”
The UGC Lady Captain’s Prize is made possible through the generous support of partners and sponsors, including KCB Bank, Pepsi, Wandaz Products Ltd, Gorilla Heights Lodge, Case Medical Services, Kenya Airways, Orchard Interiors, WhiteCap Crisp, and NBS Sport. This collaborative effort underscores a commitment to fostering camaraderie and excellence within the golfing community.
