City tycoon and businessman, Bassajabalaba, is urging the government to prioritize and improve infrastructure in Kampala’s Central Business District.
During a recent tour of Namuwongo and Muyenga, he expressed dissatisfaction with the deteriorating state of roads in the city.
“As leaders, we must prioritize road development. Improved roads will attract investors to our country,” emphasized Bassajabalaba, stressing the need for national collaboration.
To contribute to the city’s aesthetics, he pledged to plant trees in Kampala, envisioning a more beautiful urban landscape. Additionally, Bassajabalaba committed to providing construction equipment, including graders, to facilitate road improvements across different parts of Kampala.
While acknowledging recent road development plans shared by ED-UNRA, which predominantly focus on countryside areas, Bassajabalaba highlighted the importance of addressing urban infrastructure challenges. The identified roads for improvement include the Kisubi-Nakawuka, Nateete, Nakawuka-Kasanje-Mpigi, Mbulamuti-Kamuli-Bukungu (covering 127 Km), Iganga Bulopa Kamuli, Kawuku Bwerenga, Koboko-Yumbe-Moyo, and Kabale-Lake Bunyonyi and Kisoro Mgahinga routes, among others.
This call for action emphasizes the need for comprehensive urban infrastructure upgrades to attract investment and enhance the overall living environment in Kampala.
