Africa’s Queen of Comedy, Anne Kansiime recently dropped a bombshell, admitting that she never completed her university education.
Contrary to widespread belief that she holds a degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University, the 36-year-old disclosed that she didn’t graduate from the esteemed institution.
Despite dedicating three years to her degree, Kansiime confessed that she missed out on graduation due to having to retake two course units.
In an interview, she candidly shared her disbelief at the situation, having put in immense effort to complete her studies.
“I studied for three years, and when it was time for graduation, it turned out that I had 2 course units that I needed to retake,” she explained.
Facing this setback, Kansiime made a tough decision. She opted to keep her family in the dark about her graduation status, persuading them not to attend the ceremony.
“I just went and bought the graduation gown and I called my parents and told them that they didn’t need to come for the graduation because it would be a waste of money,” she recounted.
Despite not having the formal paperwork, Kansiime was already thriving in her career and supporting her family financially.
This eased her parents’ concerns about her education, allowing her to keep up the charade.
Reflecting on her current success, Kansiime emphasized that she’s unfazed by her lack of university credentials.
“What matters is that I went to Makerere…my classmates can attest to that,” she asserted, adding, “I’m not planning on running for political office.”
Kansiime’s funny skills shine brighter than her education in showbiz. Her success reminds us that there’s no one-size-fits-all path to making it big.
