Buyende SACCO leaders received a commendation to adopt the operational strategies of Wazalendo SACCO during a training session inaugurated by Retired Major Betty Akello, the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Buyende District. The training, facilitated by Wazalendo SACCO at the Buyende Primary School hall, focused on enhancing the leadership skills of Buyende District SACCO officials.
Major (RTD) Betty Akello, in her address, emphasized the imperative for participants to maintain a high standard of discipline throughout the training. Furthermore, she underscored the significance of fostering a network among District SACCO leaders to facilitate the exchange of experiences and the collective resolution of challenges associated with SACCO management.
Acknowledging Wazalendo SACCO’s leadership for extending this pivotal opportunity to Buyende District, Major Akello pledged comprehensive support. She committed to aiding Buyende SACCOs by facilitating the engagement of proficient trainers and establishing connections with government-sponsored programs, such as Emyooga and the Parish Development Model, aimed at augmenting capital in the SACCOs.
The Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors at Wazalendo SACCO expressed gratitude for the proactive efforts of Buyende District leaders in mobilizing SACCO officials for the training. He encouraged SACCO leaders to zealously preserve the prevailing peace and utilize available socio-economic avenues to alleviate poverty in the Busoga region.
The training participants, hailing from various sub-counties within Buyende District, alongside local leaders, collectively aim to enhance their understanding of SACCO management principles for effective leadership in their respective roles.
